Trigg Co., KY (March 25, 2025) - Five people suffered injuries in a collision in Trigg County on Tuesday afternoon, March 25. A vehicle operated by an Illinois resident, Edward Smith, was exiting onto US 68 from the eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 when it was involved in a crash with a van driven by Carl Spurlin of Clinton.
Two passengers inside Smith’s vehicle became trapped inside when it overturned due to the crash. Both were rescued from the vehicle and transported to Trigg County Hospital by ambulance. Carl Spurlin was transported to Jennie Stuart Health in Hopkinsville to be treated for injuries while his wife, Delores, was airlifted to a Nashville hospital. Police in Trigg County continue to investigate the details of the accident.
