Corbin, KY (August 5, 2024) – A young girl lost her life in a traffic accident reported in Corbin on Sunday, August 4. Emergency responders were sent to the scene on Interstate 75 near mile marker 26 shortly after the incident.
Reports from police show that a Kia Sportage operated by 43-year-old Michael Stout struck a moped operated by 31-year-old Darius Wade of Lexington. A 10-year-old girl was also present on the moped at the time. Police confirmed that Wade and the young girl were both transported to Baptist Regional Hospital before being life-flighted to the University of Kentucky hospital. While there, the 10-year-old later lost her life due to the extent of her injuries. Police in Corbin continue to investigate the details of the accident.
