Kentucky Auto Accidents
Hundreds of thousands of traffic accidents happen in the state of Kentucky. On average, the Bluegrass state sees more than 125,000 annual auto accidents. These wrecks cause tens of thousands of people to sustain injuries and even end in loss of life for some victims. Unfortunately, the majority of them are caused by driver negligence. In the US today, driver distraction and intoxication are two top causes of auto accidents.
In one recent year, driver intoxication was behind over 30% of the national accident fatality rate. Negligent driving is a serious problem in Kentucky and throughout the United States, causing over 93% of reported traffic accidents per year. In Kentucky, driver distraction is currently the leading cause of the majority of auto accidents.
Those who are hurt in car accidents often end up with serious injuries that land them in the hospital for prolonged periods. Crash victims have to undergo immense strain due to serious injuries, outstanding medical bills, vehicle repair costs, and lost wages. The financial, emotional, and physical stress crash victims experience can be completely overwhelming.
Losing a family member in a fatal traffic accident is, perhaps, the only thing more devastating than suffering severe injuries yourself. Yearly, over 40,000 individuals lose their lives in traffic collisions in the United States. In Kentucky, thousands of people are killed annually in fatal car wrecks.
