Lancaster, KY (August 6, 2024) – A three-car accident happened in Lancaster that took the life of one person and injured two others.
Reports from local sources show the incident occurred just before 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 4, at the intersection of Royalty Drive and US-27. Richard Adams, age 74, sustained fatal injuries when he was involved in a collision on Lexington Road. His northbound vehicle struck another vehicle heading in the same direction under circumstances that are still being investigated. His car also struck another automobile after the initial crash, according to reports. Adams lost his life at the crash scene, sources said. Kaitlyn Williams, 29, of Lexington, was the operator of the first vehicle hit. She and her passenger were treated for injuries at an area hospital. Lesa Cox, 30, was operating the second vehicle hit, and she was life-flighted by Air Evac to UK Hospital where she was treated for serious injuries. Police in Lancaster continue to investigate the details of the accident.
