Kentucky Pedestrian Accidents

In Kentucky, traffic accidents occur daily, with the state averaging around 150,000 collisions each year. Approximately 25,000 of these result in injuries, and over 700 tragically end in fatalities. Sadly, most of these accidents could be prevented, as they are often caused by driver negligence.

Negligence is the leading cause of car accidents in Kentucky and the United States. Each year, more than 90% of reported accidents are due to negligent driving. When drivers are distracted, intoxicated, fatigued, or speeding, they endanger not only themselves but everyone else on the road.

Reckless and negligent driving behaviors put countless lives at risk, especially vulnerable groups like pedestrians and cyclists. When drivers are inattentive or careless, the likelihood of causing serious or even fatal injuries to others rises sharply.

Examples of negligent driving that can lead to severe accidents include distracted driving, drunk driving, or driving while fatigued.
