Louisville, KY (January 27, 2025) – A man from Louisville, age 39, lost his life in a fatal collision on January 24. Reports show the wreck happened in Louisville between three vehicles on River Road near Frankfort Avenue. Michael Janes was operating his vehicle headed west on River Road when he was involved in a rear-end crash with a commercial vehicle turning left onto Frankfort Avenue. The impact of the initial collision caused Janes to veer into oncoming traffic and strike another eastbound vehicle.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to University Hospital from the scene. Janes suffered injuries in the accident that ultimately took his life. Police in Louisville continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the wreck.

We want to offer our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased victim.

Kentucky Auto Accidents

Every day, hundreds of car accidents occur across Kentucky, with the state averaging over 100,000 traffic collisions annually. Tragically, these accidents claim many lives, and tens of thousands more people are injured. Nationwide, car accidents cause millions of injuries each year. Sadly, reckless driving is responsible for most of these incidents.

Over the past decade, driver negligence has become increasingly common across the United States. Factors like exhaustion, intoxication, and speeding have grown into serious hazards, contributing to over 90% of car accidents in the U.S. each year. Suffering injuries in a major car accident can be an incredibly stressful and challenging experience, often keeping you away from family and work and requiring a prolonged hospital stay. This situation is tough for anyone, but it can be especially difficult for those with families depending on them.
