Kentucky Car Crashes

Kentucky car crashes occur daily. Every year, the state sees more than 150,000 traffic accidents, about 25,000 of which cause injuries. Sadly, around 700 people end up losing their lives each year due to Kentucky car accidents. Unfortunately, the majority of these accidents are preventable and caused by driver negligence.

Negligent driving has become the main cause of most reported car wrecks in the United States and across Kentucky. Every year, more than 90% of the car crashes reported in the United States are caused by negligent driving, according to information provided by the National Highway Traffic Highway Association. Drivers who get behind the wheel while distracted, exhausted, intoxicated, or while traveling at unsafe speeds risk their own lives and also the lives of everyone on the road.

Negligent driving comes in many different forms, including intoxication, distraction, fatigue, and speeding. For example, speeding causes over 11,000 fatalities each year while intoxication takes the lives of around 12,000 people annually. Additionally, around 400,000 traffic collisions are caused by driver distraction each year.
