Car Accidents in Kentucky

Every day, vehicle collisions happen in Kentucky. Across our state, there are over 150,000 traffic incidents annually, with over 25,000 resulting in injuries. Sadly, Kentucky auto accidents result in the deaths of almost 700 persons annually. Unfortunately, driver recklessness is at blame for the majority of these incidents, which are avoidable.

In Kentucky as well as the United States, the majority of recorded auto accidents are now caused by negligent driving. Negligent driving is a contributing factor in over 90% of automobile collisions recorded in the US each year, according to data from the National Highway Traffic Highway Association. Distracted, tired, drunk, or speeding drivers put not just their own lives but also the lives of other road users in danger when they get behind the wheel.

There are many distinct types of negligent driving, such as speeding, alcohol, distraction, and exhaustion. For instance, drunk driving results in about 11,000 yearly deaths, while drunk driving results in over 12,000 annual fatalities. In addition, driver distraction results in over 400,000 traffic accidents annually.
