McCracken Co., KY (May 22, 2024) – One person lost their life and another suffered injuries in a motorcycle accident involving a passenger vehicle in McCracken County. It happened on Monday afternoon, May 21, at approximately 2:41 p.m. Police responded to the scene on Kentucky Dam Road near Eagles’ Nest Drive. Police found that 63-year-old Gordon Smith, of Kuttawa, Kentucky, was operating a 2007 Harley Davidson headed east on Kentucky Dam Road when he was involved in a collision with a 70-year-old man from Paducah who was operating a 2012 Buick Enclave. Smith was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The other driver was transported to a local hospital to be treated for injuries he sustained in the accident. Several agencies assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene, including the Mercy Regional Ambulance, the Reidland-Farley Fire Department, the McCracken County DES, Harper’s Towing, and the McCracken County Coroner’s Office.
