McCracken Co., KY – Multiple Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Childress Rd

McCracken County, KY (September 1, 2025) – Several people were injured on Sunday evening, August 31, in a two-vehicle crash in McCracken County that ended with one driver in jail. 

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office reported that the crash happened at the intersection of Childress Road and McKendree Church Road. According to investigators, Jon Day of Hopkinsville failed to obey a stop signal while driving on Childress Road. His vehicle collided with another carrying five occupants. 

Emergency crews rushed to the scene and provided treatment before transporting multiple victims to nearby hospitals. One individual sustained injuries severe enough to require transport to an out-of-state hospital for specialized care. Deputies arrested Day at the scene. His charges include DUI, wanton endangerment, and driving on a DUI-suspended license. He was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.

The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the investigation remains active.
