Georgetown, KY (October 15, 2025) – Two people were rushed to the hospital on Tuesday evening, October 14, after a serious three-vehicle collision on northbound Interstate 75 near mile marker 127 in Georgetown.

According to Georgetown Police Assistant Chief Josh Nash, the crash happened around 7:30 p.m. when traffic had come to a stop on the interstate. Investigators said one vehicle failed to slow down and crashed into the back of another car, forcing it into a third vehicle. The first two vehicles sustained heavy damage and blocked multiple lanes of traffic.

Emergency crews responded immediately, providing medical aid to the injured victims. One person suffered life-threatening injuries, while another was listed in critical condition. The individuals in the third vehicle were not hurt.

Police diverted northbound traffic at Exit 127 and directed drivers through a nearby rest area while officers and the crash reconstruction team worked at the scene. Authorities reopened the roadway later that night after completing the investigation and clearing the wreckage.

The Georgetown Police Department continues to investigate the crash and determine what led to the chain-reaction collision, including whether speed, distraction, or driver inattention contributed.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families, and we wish them both a full and speedy recovery.

Car Accidents in Kentucky2 Hospitalized After 3-Vehicle Crash on I-75 Near Mile Marker 127

Serious car accidents in Kentucky can cause devastating injuries and long-term consequences for victims and their families. High-speed collisions, especially rear-end crashes on busy interstates, often lead to head trauma, spinal injuries, and other life-altering conditions that require extensive medical treatment and rehabilitation.

These types of multi-vehicle crashes frequently occur when drivers fail to pay attention to stopped or slowing traffic. Common causes include:

  • Distracted driving: Using a phone, adjusting the radio, or other distractions takes focus away from the road.
  • Speeding: Driving too fast for traffic conditions reduces stopping distance and increases impact severity.
  • Driver fatigue: Long highway trips can cause slower reaction times and poor judgment.
  • Following too closely: Tailgating leaves little room to stop safely when traffic suddenly slows.

When someone suffers serious or life-threatening injuries because of another driver’s negligence, they have the right to seek justice. Working with an experienced car accident attorney can make a crucial difference.
