Georgetown, KY (October 24, 2025) – A deadly two-vehicle collision claimed one man’s life Wednesday evening, October 22, on Frankfort Pike in Scott County. Deputies with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office believe alcohol and distracted driving may have contributed to the fatal crash.
Authorities said the collision occurred around 7:45 p.m. in the 2400 block of Frankfort Pike. The crash involved an SUV and a pickup truck traveling in opposite directions. According to investigators, the SUV was heading west when it crossed the center line and slammed head-on into the pickup truck.
Emergency crews and deputies arrived quickly to find a passenger inside the pickup truck suffering from severe injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, the man—identified as 34-year-old Eliziar Perez of Scott County—was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies reported that early findings suggest the SUV driver may have been distracted and possibly impaired by alcohol at the time of the crash. The investigation remains active, and the Scott County Sheriff’s Office has not yet announced whether criminal charges will be filed.
