Lexington, KY (November 25, 2025) – Three people went to the hospital on Monday, November 24, after a serious two-vehicle crash on Tates Creek Road. Lexington police said the collision happened around 6:35 p.m. near Charleston Gardens Boulevard. Officers and emergency medical crews rushed to the scene after receiving calls about injuries and vehicles blocking the roadway.

When first responders arrived, they found two heavily damaged vehicles in the travel lanes. Crews treated several victims before transporting three people to a local hospital. Police said two of those victims suffered life-threatening injuries. Officials have not released their ages or current conditions.

Traffic officials closed Tates Creek Road in both directions at Charleston Gardens Boulevard. Drivers faced long delays while officers investigated and crews worked to clear the scene. Tow trucks removed the damaged vehicles, and cleanup teams cleared glass and debris from the roadway. Police reopened all lanes around 1 a.m. on November 25.

Authorities have not announced what caused the collision. Police said the investigation remains active.

We wish the injured victims a full and steady recovery as they continue receiving medical care.

Car Accidents in Kentucky3 Hospitalized After Serious Two-Vehicle Crash on Tates Creek Rd

Tates Creek Road is one of Kentucky’s busier thoroughfares, especially in the evening when people travel home from work or run errands. Heavy traffic, multiple intersections, and varied speeds can increase the chance of a serious crash. When two vehicles collide head-on or at high speed, the force can cause life-threatening injuries, as seen in this incident.

Car accidents often result in severe harm because the human body cannot absorb the sudden energy created by a crash. Victims may face:

  • Head and brain injuries that cause dizziness, confusion, or long-term cognitive issues.
  • Neck and back injuries, including whiplash and spinal damage.
  • Broken bones in the arms, ribs, hips, or legs.
  • Internal injuries that require immediate medical treatment.
  • Soft-tissue injuries that limit movement and cause lasting pain.

These injuries can take weeks or months to heal. Families often face overwhelming medical bills, missed work, and emotional stress while trying to recover. When victims suffer life-threatening injuries, the road to recovery becomes even more complex and expensive.

After a serious crash, speaking with a personal injury attorney in Lexington can help victims understand their rights. A lawyer can review the crash report, gather witness statements, analyze medical records, and handle contact with insurance companies. Legal guidance can also help victims pursue compensation for hospital bills, long-term treatment, lost wages, and pain and suffering.

A lawyer can also support families facing life-threatening injuries by protecting their claims and ensuring no one rushes them into unfair settlements.
