Louisville, KY – Fatal Ride Share Accident on N Hite Ave

Louisville, KY (December 16, 2025) – A tragic incident in the Clifton Heights neighborhood claimed the life of a man on Monday, December 15, after he was struck by his own rideshare vehicle, according to Louisville Metro Police.

The fatal accident occurred just before 9:30 a.m. on North Hite Avenue. Police said the rideshare driver attempted to drive up a snowy hill with the passenger inside the vehicle. Due to slick road conditions, the driver struggled to gain traction.

Authorities reported that the passenger noticed the difficulty and decided to exit the vehicle to walk up the hill instead. After the man stepped out, the driver did not see him move behind the vehicle. Moments later, the car rolled backward on the snow-covered roadway and struck the man.
