McCracken County, KY (April 2, 2026) – Two people were injured in a crash on Wednesday, April 1, along the 8700 block of Blandville Road in McCracken County. Emergency units responded around 5:50 p.m. after reports of a collision involving two vehicles.
Authorities said a GMC Yukon was traveling eastbound while a Mercedes-Benz E-Class moved westbound. For reasons still under review, the Mercedes crossed into the opposite lane and sideswiped the SUV. A driver ahead of the SUV reportedly steered off the road to avoid the impact.
Officials identified the SUV driver as 60-year-old Kelly Harris of Paducah. She could not avoid the collision and was struck. The impact caused the Mercedes to overturn into a creek off the roadway, while the SUV spun and came to rest in the road.
Paramedics transported both drivers to nearby hospitals for treatment. Harris suffered non-incapacitating injuries, while the driver of the Mercedes, identified as 48-year-old Phillip Morgan of Cunningham, sustained more serious injuries. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
We hope those injured have a full and speedy recovery.

After a car accident in Kentucky, injured individuals may be able to seek compensation for losses related to the crash. This can include medical expenses, lost income, and other costs tied to recovery. The exact types of compensation depend on the details of each situation.
Injury accidents can lead to a range of physical and financial challenges. People may require hospital care, follow-up visits, or therapy depending on their injuries. Some may return to normal activities quickly, while others need more time and ongoing treatment, which can increase expenses over time.
Keeping records plays an important role after a collision. Documents such as medical bills, treatment notes, and repair estimates help show how the crash affected daily life. Organized paperwork can also make it easier to review insurance claims and understand how different costs are handled.
A car accident lawyer can help review these records and explain what compensation may be available. They may also assist with organizing documents and outlining how Kentucky laws apply to a specific case.
