Morgan County, KY (June 8, 2026) – A rollback truck struck another vehicle and killed a 66-year-old West Liberty woman on Friday afternoon, June 5. Kentucky State Police said the wreck happened on US-460 West near Veterinarian Lane in Morgan County around 3 p.m.
Linda Bush was driving a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox out of Veterinarian Lane when a 2019 Chevrolet rollback, which had entered the passing lane to get around a slowing vehicle ahead, struck her car. Bush was taken to ARH Hospital in West Liberty and later airlifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital, where she died from her injuries.
No additional injuries were reported in the initial account of the crash. The cause and full circumstances of the collision remain under investigation.
We extend our deepest condolences to Linda Bush's family and all those who loved her.

In Kentucky, the right to file a wrongful death claim is more specific than many families realize. Under state law, a wrongful death claim must be filed by the personal representative of the deceased person's estate, typically someone appointed through probate court. That representative then pursues the claim on behalf of the surviving family members who are entitled to recover damages. If no personal representative has been named, an attorney can help a family understand how to establish one and what that process involves.
The people who may benefit from a wrongful death recovery in Kentucky generally include the surviving spouse and children of the deceased. If no spouse or children survive, parents and siblings may be eligible. Each situation is different, and the specific family structure at the time of death can affect who has standing and what they may be entitled to recover.
Damages in a Kentucky wrongful death case can cover funeral and burial costs, medical expenses incurred before death, lost future income the deceased would have provided, and compensation for the surviving family's loss of companionship and support. These are real financial losses that families face in the immediate aftermath of a crash and well into the future.
A wrongful death attorney can help a family determine who has standing to file, gather the documentation needed to support a claim, and navigate the legal process during an already difficult time.
