Covington, KY (April 7, 2026) – A crash involving two vehicles left a pedestrian and a driver injured Monday afternoon, April 6, at the intersection of Fourth Street and Scott Street in Covington.

The accident happened just after 12 p.m. when two vehicles traveled in the same direction. Police said one car crossed the center lane and struck a truck, causing the truck to lose control and hit a pedestrian before crashing into a nearby butcher shop.

Emergency units arrived and found the pedestrian hurt at the scene. Paramedics transported the pedestrian to UC Medical Center in stable condition. The truck driver also suffered injuries and went to St. Elizabeth Hospital with minor harm.

Authorities said the driver of the car appeared elderly and confused at the scene. Officials confirmed that no one inside the butcher shop was injured, though the building sustained minor damage.

Crews closed the intersection for several hours while investigators worked at the scene. Authorities later reopened the area after clearing the crash site. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.

Our thoughts are with those injured, and we wish them a full recovery.

Compensation That Injured Pedestrians Can Seek After a Crash in KentuckyPedestrian and Driver Injured in Crash at Fourth St & Scott St

Injured pedestrians in Kentucky may be able to seek compensation for medical bills, lost income, and other related costs after a crash. The exact types of compensation depend on the severity of injuries and the details of the accident. Kentucky uses a comparative fault system, which means a person can still pursue compensation even if they share some responsibility.

Pedestrian accidents often lead to serious injuries because the body has little protection during impact. Common injuries include fractures, head trauma, and internal injuries. Some people may need ongoing treatment, such as physical therapy or follow-up care, depending on how severe the injuries are.

Medical records play a key role in showing how injuries relate to the crash. Keeping track of doctor visits, prescriptions, and recovery progress can help create a clear timeline. This information may become important when working with insurance companies or reviewing possible claims.

A Covington personal injury lawyer can help explain how compensation rules apply in Kentucky. They can review accident details, organize documents, and explain how insurance claims may work. Legal guidance can also help clarify how shared fault may affect the outcome of a case.
