Graves County, KY (January 22, 2026) – On Wednesday afternoon, January 21, a two-vehicle traffic accident left three people injured at the intersection of Kentucky Route 1684 and Kentucky Route 849.
According to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle driven by 74-year-old Sherry Menser of Princeton was traveling southbound on KY 1684. After stopping at a posted stop sign, her vehicle proceeded into the intersection and collided with a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Megan M. Skipper of Boaz, who was traveling eastbound on KY 849.
Following the collision, Menser and a passenger, 79-year-old James Menser, were transported to Baptist Health Paducah for medical treatment. Skipper was taken by private vehicle to Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital for care. The extent of the injuries has not been publicly detailed. Authorities continue to review the circumstances surrounding the crash.
We hope all those affected in the accident make a smooth and full recovery.

Crashes at intersections often result in injuries due to the angle and force of impact, especially when vehicles collide while crossing paths. Occupants may suffer a range of traumatic injuries.
Head and brain injuries are a common concern. Even at moderate speeds, occupants may experience concussions or traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) caused by sudden impact or striking interior surfaces of the vehicle.
Neck and spinal injuries also frequently occur in intersection crashes. Whiplash, herniated discs, or spinal fractures can result from abrupt stops or side impacts, sometimes leading to long-term pain or mobility issues.
Broken bones and orthopedic injuries are another risk. Arms, legs, ribs, and hips may be fractured during a collision, often requiring immobilization, surgery, or physical therapy as part of recovery.
Internal injuries, including damage to organs and internal bleeding, can be especially dangerous because symptoms may not appear immediately. Prompt medical evaluation is critical to identify and treat these conditions early.
Kentucky follows specific rules when it comes to personal injury claims, including strict deadlines that must be met. Failing to take timely action after a crash can affect an injured person’s ability to recover compensation for their losses. Having legal guidance can help ensure important steps are handled properly and on time.
