Lexington, KY (March 4, 2026) – A 78-year-old man died and four others suffered injuries after a three-vehicle crash on Tuesday, March 3, on Man O’ War Boulevard at Blazer Parkway in Lexington.

Officers said three vehicles were involved, and one vehicle flipped onto its side during the accident. Emergency units responded to the scene, where crews rescued one trapped person from the overturned vehicle.

Authorities confirmed that four people suffered injuries in the crash. Paramedics evaluated the victims at the scene and took them to nearby hospitals for treatment. Officials have not shared details about the conditions of the injured survivors.

The Fayette County Coroner later confirmed that 78-year-old Roy Gentry, a passenger in one of the vehicles, died after the crash. The coroner stated that he suffered multiple blunt force injuries. Medical staff pronounced him dead at a local hospital. Officials ruled his death an accident.

The crash shut down portions of Man O’ War Boulevard and Blazer Parkway. Crews cleared the roadway later in the day and reopened traffic.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the collision.

We extend our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased victim and also wish the injured a steady recovery.

What Are Non-Economic Damages in a Fatal Accident Case in Kentucky?78-Year-Old Man Killed, Four Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash on Man O’ War Blvd at Blazer Pkwy

Non-economic damages in a fatal accident case in Kentucky refer to compensation that may address intangible losses, such as loss of companionship, emotional suffering, and the impact of losing a loved one’s guidance and support.

These damages differ from economic damages, which cover measurable costs like medical bills or funeral expenses.

In Kentucky, certain surviving family members or a legal representative of the estate may pursue a wrongful death claim. Non-economic damages often focus on how the loss affects daily life and family relationships.

Courts may consider the closeness of the relationship, the role the person played in the household, and the long-term effect of the loss.

Unlike hospital bills or wage records, non-economic losses do not come with receipts. That can make these claims more complex. Documentation such as family statements, testimony, and background information about the person’s life may help explain the depth of the loss. Each case depends on its specific facts and circumstances.

Legal guidance can help families understand how Kentucky law applies to their situation. A Lexington wrongful death attorney can review available records and explain what types of compensation may be available under state law.
