Perry County, KY (April 15, 2026) – A fatal two-vehicle crash claimed one life and left three others injured Monday afternoon, April 13, in the Slemp community of Perry County. The accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Old Beech Fork Road, prompting a response from emergency units and state investigators.

Officials said a black Ford F-250 traveled along Old Beech Fork Road when the driver failed to navigate a steep curve. The truck crossed the center line and struck a white Ford Explorer driven by 82-year-old Bobbie Boggs of Big Laurel.

Emergency responders pronounced Boggs dead at the scene. Authorities later transported the driver of the F-250 and two passengers to Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Investigators confirmed that all occupants involved in the crash wore seat belts at the time. Officials transferred Boggs to the Kentucky Office of the State Medical Examiner in Frankfort for an autopsy and toxicology testing.

Authorities continue to review the crash and reconstruct the events that led up to the collision.

We extend our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased victim.

How Long Families Have to File a Wrongful Death Lawsuit in KentuckyOne Killed, Three Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Old Beech Fork Rd

In Kentucky, families usually have one year to file a wrongful death lawsuit, starting from the date a personal representative is appointed for the estate. This timeline plays an important role in determining whether a claim can move forward.

Fatal crashes often leave families with many questions about what steps come next. These accidents can involve sudden loss, medical expenses, and final arrangements that require careful documentation. Reports, medical records, and official findings may all become important when reviewing how the incident occurred and what actions may follow.

Wrongful death claims often depend on evidence that shows how the crash happened and who may be responsible. Investigators may review crash reports, road conditions, vehicle damage, and witness statements. In Kentucky, these details can help determine whether negligence played a role and how a claim may proceed under state law.

A wrongful death lawyer can help families understand how wrongful death claims work and what timelines apply. This may include reviewing records, explaining legal requirements, and answering questions about available options. Legal guidance can also help clarify how compensation may be handled through an estate.
