Shepherdsville, KY (March 2, 2026) – A 27-year-old woman died on Saturday, February 28, after a head-on crash at the intersection of Kentucky 44 East and Watergate Drive near Mount Washington in Bullitt County. The collision happened around 7:34 p.m. Kentucky State Police Post 4 responded to investigate the two-vehicle accident.
Troopers said a Toyota Tacoma, driven by a young person, traveled westbound on KY 44 East when the passenger-side tires dropped off the right side of the roadway onto a steep shoulder. The driver then overcorrected, which caused the truck to cross the centerline into the eastbound lane.
The Tacoma entered the path of a Ford Escape traveling eastbound. The vehicles collided head-on. The force of the crash pushed the Ford down a small embankment, where it overturned and came to rest on its roof.
The driver of the Ford Escape, Sarah Weisman, 27, of Shepherdsville, died at the scene. The Bullitt County Coroner pronounced her deceased. The young driver of the Toyota Tacoma did not report injuries.
Emergency units assisted at the scene while troopers conducted a reconstruction of the crash. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Sarah Weisman during this challenging time.
