Pedestrian Accidents in Kentucky

Pedestrian accidents often cause serious injuries because people on foot have no protection against the force of a vehicle. Intersections, especially at night, present major risks when drivers speed, ignore traffic signals, or fail to yield.

Common injuries from pedestrian accidents include:

  • Broken bones that may require surgery and long rehabilitation.
  • Head and brain injuries that can lead to permanent impairments.
  • Internal injuries, including organ damage or bleeding, which can be life-threatening.
  • Spinal cord damage that may cause chronic pain or even paralysis.

Sadly, when drivers commit hit-and-run offenses, victims are left without the immediate help they need.

Victims of pedestrian crashes often face long hospital stays, mounting medical bills, and lost wages. Families may also struggle emotionally as their loved ones recover. In these situations, legal support can play a critical role.

When someone is hurt in a pedestrian accident caused by driver negligence, they may have the right to pursue compensation. An experienced personal injury attorney can investigate the case, work with witnesses, and hold reckless drivers accountable. Compensation can cover medical expenses, lost income, therapy, and pain and suffering.

Acting quickly is vital because Kentucky law limits the time victims and families have to file claims. Partnering with a skilled lawyer ensures evidence is preserved, rights are protected, and the strongest case is presented.
