Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Brandon Higgins during this difficult time.

Pedestrian accidents are among the most devastating types of roadway incidents in Kentucky. Even low-speed impacts can result in catastrophic injuries or fatalities because pedestrians have no protection against oncoming vehicles. High-traffic corridors pose an even greater risk, particularly at night or during emergencies when drivers may be distracted or responding to urgent calls.
According to recent state data, Kentucky reports hundreds of serious pedestrian crashes every year. Many of these accidents result in life-changing injuries such as traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord damage, or internal bleeding. Sadly, in some cases—like this fatal incident in Hopkinsville—victims lose their lives at the scene.
Families who lose loved ones in pedestrian collisions often face emotional pain and unexpected financial burdens, including funeral costs, medical bills, and loss of income. When negligence or reckless driving contributes to a deadly accident, the surviving family may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim with help from an experienced wrongful death lawyer.
A skilled attorney can also handle insurance negotiations and ensure the victim’s family receives the full compensation they deserve.
