Bowling Green, KY (November 21, 2025) – A serious overnight crash involving two tractor-trailers caused major delays on Interstate 65 south in Bowling Green on Thursday, November 20. The collision happened around 1:23 a.m. near the 25-mile marker, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) and Kentucky State Police.
Troopers reported that both tractor-trailers collided in the southbound lanes. The impact left both drivers trapped inside their vehicles, forcing emergency crews to work quickly to free them.
Once responders extricated the drivers, medical personnel transported one driver to The Medical Center at Bowling Green for treatment. The second driver was taken to Tristar Greenview Hospital to receive care for his injuries. Officials have not released details about the severity of either driver’s condition.
The crash caused the right southbound lane of Interstate 65 to close for at least two hours while crews cleared debris, examined damage, and removed the tractor-trailers from the roadway.
Investigators continue to review evidence to determine what caused the two tractor-trailers to collide.
We extend our best wishes to both injured drivers and hope they make a full and steady recovery.

Truck collisions along Kentucky’s interstate system continue to pose significant dangers, especially along high-traffic corridors like Interstate 65. These routes carry heavy commercial traffic day and night, increasing the risk of severe crashes when something goes wrong. A truck accident in Kentucky often leads to life-altering injuries because of the sheer size and force of tractor-trailers involved.
Even a single moment of misjudgment, distraction, or mechanical failure can cause a chain reaction. In this crash, both drivers became trapped inside their cabs, highlighting how violent and unpredictable semi-truck collisions can be. Kentucky drivers who travel long stretches of interstate know these risks well, and many rely on the state’s commercial trucking network every day.
Common factors that contribute to truck accidents on Kentucky interstates include:
Truck crashes frequently leave victims facing extensive medical treatment, long recovery times, and major financial strain. Many drivers in similar situations seek support from a personal injury lawyer who understands the complexities of tractor-trailer collisions. An attorney can help gather evidence, review police reports, secure trucking company records, and pursue compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and pain caused by the crash.
Victims of large truck crashes should take steps to protect their health and legal rights, including seeking medical attention, documenting injuries, and getting legal guidance as soon as possible.
