McCracken County, KY (May 20, 2026) – Three people were injured after a Ford F-150 crossed into the path of another vehicle at the intersection of Lovelaceville Road and South Gum Springs Road in McCracken County. The McCracken County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash at approximately 7:57 a.m on Tuesday, May 19.
A 73-year-old McCracken County man was driving the 2010 Ford F-150 and was attempting a left turn onto Lovelaceville Road from South Gum Springs Road when he moved into the path of a vehicle driven by a 57-year-old from Ballard County. Both drivers and a 27-year-old passenger were taken to a local hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.
The investigation into this collision remains ongoing.
We hope all three people recover smoothly and swiftly.

Left-turn crashes are among the most preventable and common collisions on rural roads in western Kentucky. When a driver misjudges the speed of oncoming traffic or fails to yield before turning, the resulting impact is typically a direct front-to-side or front-to-front collision that leaves little room for the other driver to react. In Kentucky, people hurt as a result of these kinds of crashes may have grounds to pursue a personal injury claim for their losses.
Non-incapacitating injuries can still result in significant medical bills, missed work, and a recovery period that disrupts daily life in ways that are not always immediately apparent. Soft tissue damage, whiplash, and joint injuries may worsen over the days following a crash, and documenting symptoms early is important for any future claim.
Kentucky follows a pure comparative fault system. Put simply, an injured person can still be able to recover compensation even if they are found to share a portion of fault. Despite this, it is useful that a car accident attorney evaluates the case and analyzes faults to determine the amount that can be recovered.
Serious injuries can follow even crashes that are initially described as minor, and knowing your legal options early makes a difference. If you or someone you love was hurt in a collision in Kentucky, our team at Byrnes Law Office can review your situation and explain what may be available to you.
