Madisonville, KY (September 17, 2024) – A head-on crash happened in Madisonville on Monday night, September 16, that resulted in the death of one individual and injured three others.
Police in Madisonville reported that the incident took place in the 4000 block of Nebo Road, just before 9:00 p.m., when a vehicle operated by Jessica Settle, 34, of Manitou, was headed north when it crossed the center line and struck a southbound vehicle. That vehicle was operated by 40-year-old Amy Hirsche of Hopkinsville. A passenger inside Hirsch’s vehicle, identified as Ashley Foster, 25, had to be extricated by the Madisonville Fire Department.
Hirsch and Foster were taken by ambulance to Baptist Health Deaconess Emergency Room to be treated for injuries they sustained in the accident. Both Settle and a female juvenile in her vehicle were also taken by ambulance to Baptist Health to be treated for injuries. The juvenile later lost her life, according to reports. The Manitou Fire Department, Kentucky State Police, Medical Center Ambulance Service, Kentucky State Highway Department, Providence EMS, and the Madisonville Police assisted at the crash scene. Police are currently investigating the incident.
